Eurica Start planning

Questions about Eurica

What it is, what it costs, what happens to your files, and what it deliberately will not do.

The basics

What is Eurica?

A free web app for planning a trip day by day. You create a trip with its dates, fill each day on an hourly timeline, see the stops on a map with the real walking time between them, and keep the tickets attached to the stops they open.

Is Eurica free?

Yes. There is no trial, no card and no paid tier. Nothing useful sits behind a wall.

Do I need an account?

Yes. The trip has to belong to someone so that it is there on another device, and so that sharing and taking access away both work. You can sign up with an email and password or with Google.

Is there a mobile app?

No. Eurica runs in a browser and works on a phone, but there is nothing to install from an app store.

Does it work offline?

Not as a whole — maps and files are fetched when you open them. One exception, and it is the one that matters at a turnstile: opening Live loads today’s tickets into memory first, so they open at the entrance with no signal.

Building a trip

Can I import an itinerary I already have?

Yes, from an Excel file, using the Eurica template. Dates, times, places and notes come across and every place is looked up on the map. How the import works.

Will it plan the trip for me?

No, and that is the point. Nothing is suggested and no itinerary is generated. Every stop on the timeline is one you put there.

What if a stop has no time yet?

It goes into a “No time” band at the top of the day. Nothing is forced to have an hour before you have decided it.

Are flights and hotels just stops?

No. They are typed: a flight carries its code, seat and booking reference, a hotel its check-in and check-out, a rental its pick-up and drop-off. One hotel row becomes two stops, the check-in and the check-out.

Where do the walking times come from?

The map draws the real route on foot between one stop and the next and puts the minutes on that leg — not a straight line between two pins.

Tickets, documents and privacy

Where do my tickets go?

The PDF attaches to the stop it belongs to, and also collects in the trip archive as a pass. Passport, insurance and anything else you always carry live in Always with you, outside any one trip. More on files.

Are my ticket PDFs deleted?

Yes, sixty days after the trip’s end date, automatically. A boarding pass carries your name and reference and a QR ticket is the ticket, so keeping them after the trip is a risk with no upside. Trip documents and Always with you are not touched, and you are told the date in advance.

Can other people see my files?

Only editors of a trip you shared, plus viewers if you turn file sharing on for that trip. Always with you is never shared.

Planning with other people

Can I share a trip?

Yes, by email or with an invite link, as can view or can edit. Only the trip owner invites people. How sharing works.

Can I take access away?

Yes, one person at a time. Invite links can also be given an expiry date and a limit on how many times they can be used, and deleting a link stops anyone who has not used it yet.

Leaving

Can I export my trips?

Not in one click. The import direction is a spreadsheet in; there is no matching export out. If getting your data back out easily matters to you, it is worth knowing before you put a long trip in.

Who is Eurica not for?

Anyone who wants the trip assembled for them, wants to book flights and hotels inside the app, or wants booking emails to turn into a trip by themselves. Eurica does none of those. What Eurica does and does not do.
